Happy Memorial Day Weekend!  A few weeks ago hubby and I had the pleasure of seeing Cirque du Soleil’s new show, Luzia: a waking dream of Mexico.  I’ve always loved all the Cirque shows for their unmatched creativity, costume design, music and incorporation of international cultures. So naturally I was ecstatic to be invited back to the big tents to not only tour the back stage, but to *gasp* get my hands on their incredible costumes!!

Can you believe this horse is actually made out of a light, styrofoam material?  You should see this thing in action on stage! (scroll down for the video trailer).

When I first saw the scene with these cubic mirrored costumes at the show, immediately I thought “How amazing would this be in an actual dress?!”  Well, that thought came true as Francis, Cirque’s international publicist guided me to the costume area to fulfill my kid-in-a-candy-store dream. The one I’m wearing is actually for men, and it makes a perfect boxy mini dress with to-die-for shine!

So when is Cirque having a trunk sale???  I’m all about it.
