Fashion is art. To me, the process of putting together an outfit is no different than creating an art piece using different mediums – you’re using your body as a canvas to communicate an idea or statement. My goal for this blog is not only to provide trends and shopping tips, but also to inspire creativity. It’s always fun to come up with a new ensemble with items in your closet, and sometimes it just takes a little thinking outside the box to achieve your vision!
We often layer tops in the winter, but why not layer skirts? This look is created with 2 skirts – a mini one with a flap that hangs wonderfully over the longer skirt. I envisioned a loose, white belt to complete the look – but didn’t have one. However, I do have a white purse with a removable strap! All it took was a safety pin, and voila! The vision is complete. As an added accessory, the earmuffs make a great collar when indoors, too!
So what do you think? Is there something in your closet that can do double duty? Sweater as a scarf, pendent as an earring, son’s tie as a choker? The possibilities are endless, have fun with it!
