For a chic yet casual weekend look, one of my favorite styles is the shirt dress. Contrary to the always-overdressed me a couple years ago, I jump now whenever I can get into some cool, comfortable casual look. Perhaps having to chase after a toddler all the time contributes to that? :p
This look reminds me of the Fashion Week street style photos which have inspired my outfits so much. There’s something really sexy about a shirt dress that’s totally cool because it’s un-trying, and the asymmetrical hem of this Theory version adds a unique touch to the typical shirt silhouette. With the sneaker trend still in full swing, anything that goes with stylish walkable shoes screams cool girl chic. I recently discovered British designer Jamie Wei Huang, and have been drawn towards her edgy aesthetics. Having studied under Stella McCartney, her designs have an unapologetic, badass attitude which exudes the killer city-girl vibe. The pointed toes and platforms on these loafers have the perfect design elements for on-trend athleisure without being too casual. That is what I call #Wei2Chic!
A biker leather vest, red cut-off frames (currently 25% off at Macy’s Friends & Family until 5/2/16!) and metal cage bag completes this edgy look. I always loved a bold choker, and put one on (or a scarf) whatever chance I get. Did you see that they are now declared as the new flower crowns of Coachella?
I love running into talented folks getting their creative juices flowing on the streets of DC. Of course @MonLingLee would be location scouting in the prettiest shade of plum shoes! <3
Thanks for reading, see you back soon!
