Designers from Georgia have been on the rise lately, and I find myself drawn to the runways and street-style photos of Tbilisi Fashion Week for a few seasons now. Thanks to the curation of Curio Concept Store who has a great selection of Georgian designers, and obviously Demna Gvasalia of Vetements and now Balenciaga, Georgian designers are getting some much-deserved attention as of late. This region may still be the underdog in comparison to Paris and Milan, but I find the unique and unapologetic aesthetics so cutting-edge.
I found designer Anouki Areshidze on Moda Operandi and couldn’t resist her sparkly pieces, as I obviously can’t say no to anything with sequins and shine! It was also intriguing to learn that she is married to Kakha Kaladze, the mayor of Tbilisi, which puts her in both the fashion and political circles. Living in Washington, D.C., I can truly appreciate the relations of both worlds and how they can be of influence for each other!
I layered an Anouki sheer top with sequin turtleneck underneath one of my favorite oldie – a Rick Owens tulle dress. A pair of skinny jeans and Off-White over-the-knee boots completes the bottom half. Also there’s something here you don’t see me wear often – diamonds! This gorgeous square-shaped Mimi So diamond bracelet is from Flont, a fine-jewelry rental service I recently discovered. As I’m not into shelling out thousands of dollars for fine jewelry, an unlimited rental for couple hundreds a month sounds much more within reach!
Loving my vintage Chanel Timeless Wallet On Chain from LePrix – been taking it everywhere!
Back at Maydan again. I can’t resist the yumminess of this place!
