There’s never been a better time for all-white than right now. Upcoming collections from Chanel, Alexander Wang and Katie Gallagher have proved all-black outfits aren’t going out anytime soon-but before fall hits, there isn’t a better time to try all-white than in summer. However, rather than a basic-on-basic or 2-3 piece look, like the ones we saw at New York Fashion Week this February, all-white presents great opportunities for mixing textures!
I started this outfit with a Beaufille open-knit dress over a bandeau top. The dress is long-sleeved, but its’ geometric, netting-like pattern makes it translatable to a summer wardrobe. I thought the intricacy of the dress needed something more dimensional, so I layered it with this skirt by Shu Shu Tong. The skirt’s bow details make for an interesting texture mix with the dress-it’s appearance is much softer, feminine and more relaxed against the knit outlines.
I paired these with my favorite pointed-toe mules and Shrimps pearl-studded bag. White shoes have become a staple for my current wardrobe, and these are definitely part of my regular rotation-plus, it isn’t a single-color look if the shoes don’t match! The bag adds a bit of quirkiness to the look-what Shrimps NYC is known for-while maintaining texture as an essential focal point. The pearls especially pop against the skirt’s lighter appearance and delicate bows!
For an extra hint of summer, I added these fun Jacquemus ‘Le Citron’ earrings. The brand’s exaggerated summer vacay aesthetic has become a bona fide hit this season-and nothing says summer like bold colors and tropicals!
