Spring transition means jacket weather – and the leather (or faux) moto jacket has been a staple in the closet for quite some time. I love that this grey version can be worn with so many options, while giving a refreshing break from basic black. Layering a poplin underneath a sheer summer top makes this spring appropriate. Speaking of taking breaks from basics – I can’t get enough of these dome hats from New York City-based Clyde. It’s such a refreshing change from the usual fedora, isn’t it?
I often consider myself a fashion collector, and when shopping I’m usually drawn to pieces that portray a unique, creative idea. This Ostwald Helgason top is one such piece. The apple peel is an appliqué – unattached to the shirt and shows the sheer panel beneath. Genius! The multi-panel Ellery skirt adds more dimension to the look, while giving the apple its glory.
What’s your go-to transitional look? There’s still time to play with layering in DC. Have fun with it while it lasts!
