Having been in the Washington, D.C area most of my life, it’s been a such a pleasure to see the city change and develop into the destination for food, art, residential and culture it is today. I have grown to love this city and enjoyed every moment of living in midst of its monumental transformations. While it hasn’t been known as a fashion city, DC’s style has improved immensely in the past few years, and I – along with a strong network of style bloggers in the area – am determined to change that, one post at a time.
This dress by Italian-based MSGM says so much about my style aesthetic. It’s unique and artistic design screams freedom and individuality. Designed by former DJ Massimo Giorgetti in 2009 – who’s taste in music I also adore – MSGM is the cool contemporary branded needed in midst of all the well-established high-end Milanese fashion houses. Giorgetti infuses his passion for contemporary art and indie music into his designs, while mixing traditional with nonconformist style.
The bold look of this ensemble deserves the partnership of an equally bold and unconventional setting – that is Atlantic Plumbing of the new hip neighborhood North End Shaw. Inspired by the artist lofts of New York City’s meatpacking district, these apartments are the much needed modern, edgy architecture in a traditional city. Located near the 9:30 Club, the beautifully designed building has a gorgeous rooftop, lounge areas and community rooms, not to mention all the great new restaurants and creative businesses within the square block. The developers of North End Shaw carefully curated their tenants to make this the hot new neighborhood in DC. If you haven’t been to NES yet, definitely check it out!
Big thanks to TAA PR and Jen Eun Photography for making this post possible.
